Theatre Director, Artistic Director, Arts Educator and Consultant from New York who currently resides between Breckenridge, CO and Chicago, IL.

Hello! I’m the Producing Artistic Director of Breckenridge Backstage Theatre in Breckenridge, CO, the 50 year old innovative regional theatre, and the Co-Artistic Director of TUTA Theatre, the critically acclaimed Chicago company known for producing rarely seen international works and boldly reimagined classics.  From 2016-20, I served as Artistic Director of Emerald City Theatre, Chicago’s largest professional theatre company for young audiences. I currently serve as an Artistic Contributor and Theatre Consultant for Magic Tree House On Stage, musicals adapted from the best selling book series. Working between these worlds of physical and experimental productions for adults and playful sensory driven productions for young people has given me the skills to be well rounded, inquisitive, and strong at programming and directing for all ages.

As a director I am guided by cultivating a collaborative experience with the entire artistic team.  Each voice is valued with the same weight from Lighting Designer to Lead Performer as I believe we are all approaching the project from varied and key perspectives.  My goal is to foster an inclusive and diverse creative team and aim to be thoughtful about how modern audiences receive the stories we are telling and what feels relevant to put on stage today.  It is through this lens of, “Why tell this story to our communities now?” I am most heavily led.  I believe that the past and the future inform our today and that theatrical themes must be filtered through a critical lens of offerings, questions, and openness.  The most important experiences I have had in the theatre as an audience member are when I am provided open space to question my own ideas, beliefs, and conclusions.  I want to foster an experience that allows the audience to be an active participant, be in conversation with the artists, and have the space to express their own personal reactions particularly if they differ from mine.

I’m a proud member of SDC.
